STEVE REMP, DRUMS
Starting to learn drums at age 9 was the best decision I could have made. My first performances began at the age of 14 with a Punk Rock outfit by the name of Strong Arm Law. We were based out of Suffolk County Long Island and went on to play along the east coast up until I was 19 years old, opening for acts such as Agent Orange, Murphy’s Law, and Two Man Advantage.
While studying Jazz at Stony Brook University I began a Rock oriented Jamband by the name of The Retrospectators. While no professional recordings were made, the songs I wrote for that project resurfaced while apart of A Band In Ship, with whom I released The Ark. In between those two projects I was the drummer for Gone Quite Mad, a progressive alt rock band based out of Brooklyn. With them I recorded The Neptune EP.
I am currently performing and writing with Dive Brake, an original progressive rock trio formed with Gone Quite Mad guitarist Nick Pascarella. We released the EP Test Flight in 2021. Our debut LP is in the mixing process via Pinch Records. I am also writing and performing with the indie rock jam quintet Phil and the Osophers, and am apart of a Grateful Dead cover band Near Dead Experience.
I have been used for all types of one-off recordings ranging from Jazz to Rock to Hip-Hop and have been used numerously for sampling purposes. I can arrange an original drum part or perform a live show for all types of music with very little notice.
